COPD Short Course

COPD is one of the most important chronic diseases in Primary Care presenting great challenges to practitioners managing the associated mortality and morbidity.


We would like to announce a two day course for GPs, practice nurses and other healthcare professionals with an interest in respiratory medicine which aims to update you on recent developments in the management of COPD and increase your confidence in providing care for this group of patients.


We are fortunate to be able to draw on considerable local expertise in this area and sessions will include:


• Epidemiology
• Spirometry
• Diagnosis
• Management of stable COPD and acute exacerbations
• Non-invasive ventilation
• Oxygen therapy
• Pulmonary rehab
• Psychological interventions
• Advanced care/end of life care planning


The course will be of particular interest to network/practice and nurse practitioner leads in COPD.
